La sua musica racchiude in se l'essenza del sud.
Lui è l'uomo del Blues Italiano.
Ci siamo incontrati per la prima volta un Giovedì piovoso all'inizio degli anni 90 e la nostra amicizia è durata diversi anni e in quegli anni ho avuto il privilegio di vestirlo e di conoscerlo intimamente.
Tutto ebbe inizio quando Pino volle avere delle informazioni su Chick Corea …..

Milano è solo ad un centinaio di chilometri da Brescia dove ho il mio Show Room. Il Manager di Pino a quel tempo era un amico comune, Mimmo D'Alessandro, e Mimmo aveva accennato a Pino che io ero amico di Chick Corea e che ero il suo stilista da tempo. Pino voleva che Chick suonasse nel suo prossimo album e quindi mi invitò al suo albergo per parlarne.
Ne fuipiù che felice, Pino era il mio idolo ed aveva tutta la mia ammirazione e il mio rispetto per quello che era stato in grado di creare musicalmente, un insieme incredibile di jazz, blues e sonorità mediterranee, intrise di un idioma tutto suo fatto di inglese e napoletano che suonavano come melodia e non più parole.
Il primo incontro fu "amore a prima vista", e Pino fu anche deliziato nel sentire Renata (mia moglie) cantare i suoi pezzi - capì che noi eravamo suoi fan veri …..

Is about February 91 and he was staying in a Residence in Milano that night which is very near to my hometown Brescia and he asked Mimmo D’alessandro ,that was managing him at the time, to arrange a meeting with me since it came up that I was Chick’s designer and personal friend .
I was more than happy to meet Pino !
He was my idol and I really respected him for what he had been able to achieve and create with his music , an unique mixture of blues , jazz and italian south sounds, feelings and poetry.
We were at ease with him and he was flattered when Renata ( my beloved wife) started singing one of his song and found out we were his fan for REAL and not just pretending it - Renata knew all the words ( being from the south) in the very strict dialect that Pino often used in his lyrics.
So it was love at first sight sort to speak .....!

In 1993 I designed a produced an entire collection for Pino in a very unusual fabbrica: CUPRO - a silk lice natural fiber - Pino loved it and he used all the garments in his 1993 Live Tour - The black zipper jacket, the strawberry colored pants
